Passing the Torch

Before the team at VCG grew to include this spirited group of superstars, it was just Carol…with a vision and a mission. Carol knew the kind of marketing agency she wanted to create—one with good Southern values and a kick-booty work ethic that would help great practices GROW…but Carol could only do so much alone.

Enter Sonja…

Right out of college, Sonya was a terrific writer with a remarkable attitude and a contagious willingness to learn. In a few short minutes, it was clear to Carol that Sonja put her whole heart and mind into everything she did. And Carol knew that Sonja was exactly the person she’d been looking for. Sonya would become Virginia Creative Group’s very first team member.

As VCG grew, Sonja was a calming force and an anchor during the growing pains. Every day, she stood behind Carol and provided eagerness, capability and confidence.  When change happened, Sonja was the first to dive in, learn and adapt. In no time, Sonja was an expert at pretty much everything—from blogging to social media to developing and trouble-shooting websites.

Sonja helped set the foundation at the Virginia Creative Group.

It’s why we’re sad-but-happy as Sonja moves on to her next adventure: joining her husband at Commune, a sustainable eatery/bakery/café in Virginia Beach where they are changing the world by changing how people eat.

Sonja’s talent, calming nature and positive demeanor were a priceless addition here at VCG. We know that Commune needs her now…and we know it will be even more successful and GROW because of Sonja.

Virginia Creative Group will continue to thrive, but Sonja is not replaceable. To make up for Sonja’s absence, the VCG team will just have to come eat at Commune as often as possible!

Thank you doesn’t seem like enough. VCG wouldn’t be what it is today without you Sonja!
